WELCOME TO AMERICAN STONE!

Hi, and welcome to American Stone!

In this short video, we’ll go over some important safety policies and explain what to do if you’re ever injured or become sick at work.

Your safety and success are our top priorities.

REPORTING ACCIDENTS, INJURIES & ILLNESSES

If you're hurt at work or develop a work-related illness, here's what to do:

01. TELL YOUR SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY

If your supervisor isn’t available, report it to their designee — the person in charge.

02. LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCIES

Call 911 right away, then notify your supervisor.

03. NON-LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES

What is GB Care? We partner with GB Care for medical support.

Look for the GB Care poster in your location.

  • Scan the QR code with your phone while your supervisor is present.
  • If you can’t scan the code, call: 1-(833)-495-1212 and use our GB ID: 001960.
  • GB Care is available 24/7 and provides nurse triage, self-care advice, and referrals to in-network providers.
  • If you’re still not feeling well after an injury, you can contact them again, on your own, anytime.

04. IMPORTANT

Always involve your supervisor (or their designee) during the first contact with GB Care.

WHEN TO CALL 911

Examples of Life-Threatening Emergencies

  • Unconsciousness or confusion
  • Severe bleeding
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chest pain
  • Seizures or convulsions
  • Hot, dry skin or extreme sweating
  • Inability to walk or maintain balance

HOLDING THE ACCIDENT SCENE

Don’t Move Anything

In the event of a major accident, the area may need to be investigated.

Do not move equipment, clean up spills, or disturb the scene unless directed by your supervisor or emergency responders.

Failing to secure the scene for a major accident could result in fines.

BACK INJURIES & DELAYED SYMPTOMS

Some injuries — especially back injuries — may not feel serious right away but can get worse quickly.

If you notice pain, stiffness, or discomfort later, notify your supervisor and contact GB Care as soon as possible.

Being proactive can prevent long-term problems.

KEY SAFETY REMINDERS

  • Always wear required safety gear or PPE (personal protective equipment) — including steel-toed boots when working in the yard.
  • When listening to music, never wear earbuds; if music is allowed, use speakers so you can hear what’s happening around you.
  • If you see something unsafe — like nails on the ground or incorrect equipment use — speak up or notify your supervisor.
  • Report all incidents, even minor injuries or near misses.

SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

…and we’re here to support you.

If you ever have questions, ask your supervisor — that’s what they’re there for.
